Advanced Traffic Management Systems
Our project involves the comprehensive upgrade of Miami-Dade County's existing Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) and traffic signal controllers. The goal is to modernize the countywide signalized intersections, enhance traffic signal operations, and integrate advanced technologies. Key components of the project include the installation of 3,000 Caltrans Model 2070LX traffic signal controllers, local controller software, and additional vehicle and pedestrian detection systems for actuated signal operations. The project is divided into three main task groups: Task Group 1 focuses on upgrading 3,000 traffic signal controllers, Task Group 2 involves upgrading 600 intersections with new actuation systems, and Task Group 3 addresses the implementation of miscellaneous engineering solutions such as adaptive signal control and optimization of traffic signal parameters. These upgrades will significantly improve the efficiency and functionality of the traffic signal system, ensuring smoother traffic flow and enhanced safety across the county. The project spans multiple years with a detailed approach to installation, integration, and operational testing to ensure a fully functional and modernized system.
